Facebook memories can be great to help you remember stuff!

Recently, while browsing through my Facebook feed, a memory popped up of this image of conference notes (with some doodles). After a little research, I was able to determine these notes I took a photo of and posted, were from the 2014 LCC (Library Communications Conference) where I was a keynote presenter and session presenter, along with colleague and longtime library consultant and author of The Accidental Library Marketer, Kathy Dempsey. I also noticed on the agenda that my then colleague Jason Broughton (now the director of the National Library Service for the Blind and Print Disabled) was also presenting as well as Jennifer Burke, president of IntelliCraft Research.

Through social media, I’m able to keep up with what these colleagues are doing in and out of the profession. AND, I’m able to remember what I did too!

If you read through my session notes (which obviously made a great impact on my career), you’ll see a great deal of content that holds true today and will probably stay with us for quite some time. User experience and way-finding in libraries are still important. We should all keep up-to-date with new skills and techniques to give library patrons the best experience and best access to information possible.

I offer customized training sessions on many of these topics so be sure to visit my Consulting Services page to learn more.
