It’s been a wonderful second year of retirement and consulting! I continue to get wonderful support from a group of library consultants in the ALA CORE Library Consultant group that meets online every other month. I am happy to announce that I will chair this group beginning July 1, 2023. I hope to increase attendance at our online meetings and offer a few opportunities for online networking and learning.
I have also joined the Consultants for Libraries community directory. If you’re a library-related consultant, you can use the site to connect with prospective clients and referral partners, as well as manage your own listing and share content. I also enjoyed presenting a Meeting Facilitation Skills webinar for the community.

I finished up a two-year stint as a member of the board of the Friends of South Carolina Libraries and continue to work on my Marketing and PR Skills for Friends Groups presentation. In fact, I made this into a two-part webinar series that was hosted by ALA’s United for Libraries.
I’m very appreciative to the organizations that have hired me to work with them this past year and also to the ones with whom I have upcoming engagements. Here is a summary of my past year’s presentations and webinars:
Meeting Skills Webinar for GA Public Library Service

Friends Group Resources and Getting the Most out of your United for Libraries Membership Webinars for Friends of SC Libraries

Series of three webinars for the State Library of North Carolina: Communication Skills for Library Staff, Thinking Forward – Revitalizing Your Keeping Up Habits, and Meeting Facilitation Skills for Library Staff.

If your library or non-profit organization is interested in setting up a webinar on any of the sessions I provide or if you’re interested in a specific session on something you need that’s not on my list, please feel free to send me an email at curtisrogersconsulting@gmail.com. I’m looking forward to what lies ahead in year number 3!
